Early Years Literacy & Numeracy

Early Years Literacy and Numeracy occurs several times a week. During Early Years Literacy the children are working in ability based groups and complete many varied activities such as reading a book together, completing a comprehension sheet based on the book, learning about forms of grammar, practising spelling words and developing their writing skills. In Early Years Numeracy we focus on various topics using hands on activities to reinforce understanding and development of concepts. These sessions are assisted by parental help and we appreciate parents giving up their valuable time to assist within the classroom.

Maths Bags

In Year Two your child will have the opportunity to bring home the maths bag. Parents are encouraged to work with your child together on a variety of different activities to develop your child's exploration and further their understanding of Numeracy. The children enjoy sharing their findings and discoveries with their peers.

Intensive Swimming

During Term Four the students will be involved in an intensive swimming program to develop their stroke technique and survival skills.
