LOTE

All of the children have been very busy in LOTE and were lucky enough to have several incursions such as a sushi making demonstration, a Kendo demonstration and a Japanese drumming exhibition. Also the BNPS children were involved making paper cranes to be displayed in the Hiroshima Peace Park. The directors of the Hiroshima Peace Park wrote a letter of thanks, click here to see. Check out all of the photos below.

Superclubsplus

This semester Level and Level 4 are participating in an exciting ICT program “SuperClubsPlus.”
The program allows the students to communicate with each other, interact with students around the world, create their own web pages, gather information for school projects and participate in interactive activities. The program is only accessible to primary school students and is monitored 24/7 in order to provide a safe and secure environment for students to participate in online.

As part of the program students are able to participate in Online Interviews with celebrities and interesting Australians. Recently the Year 4’s participated in an Online “Hot Seat” interview with author Andy Griffiths and were lucky enough to have Andy answer their question. Year 4 students posed the question “Andy, who is your favourite author (apart from yourself of course!)” and Andy replied that he loved reading Enid Blyton books. All of the students were very excited to see that of the thousands of questions sent in theirs was chosen by Andy for a response.

All of the students are looking forward to participating more in SuperClubsPlus over the rest of the year and progressing their ICT skills.

Thank You Wentworth Constructions

Year 3 and 4 students have been videoconferencing with students in Japan in English and Japanese through Skype. This has been very exciting for all of the students involved. We even managed to make an appearance on the news in Japan.
